Curriculum

Our vision of developing leaders and global citizens of the future means that our curriculum is designed to be innovative, dynamic and challenging, providing all students with the skills and qualifications to be successful in their future lives whatever their chosen path. We cater for students of all abilities, from those who are especially gifted in a particular subject, to those who may need additional support and are proud to deliver a curriculum that is accessible for all.

In Year 7 our curriculum builds up on the progress and attainment achieved at Key Stage Two (primary school) and emphasis is placed on the Personal, Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) required for the modern world, incorporating these skills into the more traditional specialist subjects along with applied subjects in Years 10 and 11. Choices are given to students throughout their educational path to ensure the best possible outcomes can be achieved.

The timetable is taught over a two week period with each learning period lasting 75 minutes. This is to ensure that the students have a considerable period of time to consolidate and deepen their skills and specialist knowledge.
